God repeatedly calls us to tell the next generation of the riches of His life. He invites us, cajoles us, and commands us:
Ps. 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.
Joel 1:3 Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children to another generation.
But most of us feel uncomfortable, unprepared, or unwanted. We barely can speak with our own adult children about the beauty of knowing God. How are we to “tell the coming generations the glorious deeds of the Lord” when we feel so inadequate?
Berry Simpson has been talking with the “next generation” for decades. He calls it, “relational mentoring.” He began simply because he has a heart for younger men and their spiritual lives. And that heart has grown into helping them with fathering, marriage, work, and calling.
Berry will show you, through his stories and wisdom, a biblical and natural way to care for the next generation through relational mentoring.
The wisdom and insight that you’ve gaining in your walk with God over the years is needed in the lives of younger men. Mentoring is easier and more natural than perhaps you’ve thought. Please join us.

Gary,
I watched the first four segments of Lecture 1 on Thursday prior to Bob sending me the link. I started the course from the provided link today (Saturday, 9 Mar.). I began by creating a login and then started the course with the first video. The first video ran without a hitch. The second video lost sound at about 8 minutes. I did trouble shooting on my end, including logging out and back in again and still have no sound. I wait to comment on content until I can view the entire course.

Further, selecting Session 1 does not function to return me to the course material.

I think this is a superb introduction to the topic of mentoring, which is very important in every generation – specifically, helping men know and understand who God made them to be, establishing communion and helping one another to live out our calling. Yes! It is more about relationships than content. I think Berry’s lecture is a spot-on primer that can help get men thinking about and doing life changing encounters speaking into each other’s lives. Personally, I no longer make time for group Bible studies unless there is thought given to forming mentoring relationships. The content, though brief, is fulsome in establishing the need, obligation and suggested method (Journey) to create a vehicle for mentoring. Excellent.

Many thanks to Berry for this teaching and to Gary for making it available to the Noble Heart community. Although the audience and Berry’s focus is men mentoring men, I see the course having great value for women mentoring women. Maybe Cindy could offer suggestions on how to tweak Barry’s approach in that direction!
