My friends, it was great being with you over the weekend. What an amazing reorienting time we were given.
I have a few thoughts and ideas that may be helpful in retaining and advancing what we received over the weekend.
First, don’t be surprised by the hardships that probably have or will come your way after the retreat. It’s just the Adversary’s fearful attempts to pull you back from your new place in your journey. Remember, “The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop” (Luke 8:15 NIV version). Satan is aware that “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart… (Luke 6:44-45) Stand strong!
Secondly, you were given, in a day and a half, what I learned over 25 years of study and experience. There is no way anyone can take in all of information that was presented. AND, the weekend was not about information, it was about becoming alert and oriented to story, journey and journey (A&Ox3). It was not about getting THE answer, rather learning how hear God’s voice every day through Scripture, conversations, music, movies and the voice of our heart.
So, I want to encourage you to go back through the material, especially the book (It’s Your Call), slowly. You’ve been exposed to this messages audibly, now take it in visually. There is more in the book than I could present in the weekend.
In addition, it is critical that you attend a Exploration Calling Intensive Experience sometime in the next 12 months. It involves 12 hours of small group time where you will do all that was talked about in the It’s Your Call weekend – going deeply into your story, desires and journey with 3 to 4 men. The only one that is currently on the schedule is December 1-4 in Colorado.
Finally, we cannot be alert and oriented x three (A&Ox3) if we are alone. We cannot interpret our own story, desires or journey by ourselves. We need the companionship, protection and insight of others. For this reason, The Noble Heart has developed Base Camp.
A Base Camp is literally a staging area to prepare of climbing a summit, positioned to be safe from the harsher conditions above. That’s what the Noble Heart Base Camp is – a gathering of men who are serious about discovering, developing and deploying their calling through personal interaction with friends and experienced Trail Guides.
